FAQ

What is Scrum Implementation & Project Management?

Scrum is the framework – the secret sauce – that helps us help you get twice as much done in half the time.

Your Scrum Master will work with you 1-on-1 to understand your goals and design a customized sprint campaign to meet them.

What if I don’t need Hosting, CRM, or something else?

All good! Congrats. You’re ahead of the game! We’ll review your current set up and skip over that and dedicate time and resources to something else.

What are stories, epics, and initiatives?

  • Stories, also called “user stories,” are short requirements or requests written from the perspective of an end user.
  • Epics are large bodies of work that can be broken down into a number of smaller tasks (called stories).
  • Initiatives are collections of epics that drive toward a common goal.

What are Story Points?

Estimation is hard. For us, it’s among the most difficult–if not the most difficult–aspects of the job. Many traditional teams give estimates in a time format: days, weeks, months, etc. We have transitioned to story points. Story Points measure/estimate the overall effort required to fully implement a project backlog item or any other piece of work. We assign story points relative to work complexity, the amount of work, and risk or uncertainty.

A “backlog item” is a specific change or request that you describe in detail. “Make the site look nicer” is not a job. “Design a new header image that looks like xxxx, yyyy, and zzzz” is a job. “Design a new look for the page and make it live on the site” is TWO jobs. If in doubt, ask – we’re happy to discuss.

What are Sprints?

A sprint is a short, time-boxed period when our team works to complete a set amount of work. Sprints are at the very heart of scrum and agile methodologies, and getting sprints right will help us ship better results with less blood, sweat, and tears.

“Sprints make projects more manageable, allow teams to ship high-quality work faster and more frequently, and gives them more flexibility to adapt to change.”

“With scrum, a product is built in a series of iterations called sprints that break down big, complex projects into bite-sized pieces,”

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. After you join, you’ll fill out a short project questionnaire to give us the info we need to get started. Once the questionnaire is submitted, we will send you a message within 1-2 business days through your dashboard to let you know we’re getting started, to ask you further clarifying questions if needed, and to schedule your first Sprint Planning Meeting. After that, we will secure committed Virtual Assistance availability time and set up the foundational frameworks, systems, processes, and methodologies that will ultimately create the best environment for your success, start Getting Sh*t Done, and Making Sh*t Happen.
