Who am I:
My name is Charlotte Pouwels and I am an analogue astronaut and mission organizer for EuroMoonMars. In addition, I work full-time at Airbus Defence & Space as a satellite solar panel test engineer.
I am a firm believer of going beyond your limits and pushing boundaries while working together with people from different backgrounds.
I am very passionate about diving, riding my motorcycle, bouldering and exploring Earth its wonders.
My life’s purpose is to become an astronaut and to develop space systems for human exploration.
In my time off, I am enjoying a nice glass of whiskey while stargazing at a campfire with friends and strangers (yet to become new friends).
What I do:
During analogue astronaut missions, we conduct experiments and research on how it would be to live on the Moon/Mars. These missions and researches are of how high importance to sustain a permanent habitat in an extra-terrestrial environment and to get international and interdisciplinary teams to work together on the same problem.
In addition, a lot of the work is outreach, scouting and obtaining international collaborations. Another goal is to get in contact with the public and stimulate/inspire (young) woman in and for STEM. For the work at Airbus Defence and Space, I test different systems for satellites in a clean room to make sure all the specifications are alright.
Why you should follow me on Linkedin:
Getting updates on analogue astronaut missions and information about the space sector.
Who I follow on Linkedin:
I follow inspiring people on LinkedIn with a fresh perspective on creating a better Earth and beyond. Among those are my colleagues from different backgrounds in the space sector but also amazing companies.
