How LinkedIn has helped you in your careers or businesses:
LinkedIn led me to discover connections between astronaut nutrition, which is my specific niche, and other sectors that could benefit from advances in astronaut nutrition, such as military operations, rescue missions, and emergency response operations. This broadening of the scope has helped me gain a better understanding of my career goals, what fulfills me, and what I want to contribute to society.
Tips on how to Thrive on LinkedIn:
Don’t be afraid to post about your interests, more people than you think will find them equally interesting. I try to post 3 times a week, but sometimes it is a challenge. My top personal branding tip is to share victories and failures, successes and challenges, opportunities and fears in equal amounts because it really helps to form true relationships. I enjoy sharing “trade secrets” and insights about my professional experiences and the aerospace sector – to the point no PR departments are upset, of course!
What I use Linkedin for:
I use LinkedIn for two purposes: a) to raise awareness about astronaut nutrition and nutrition in extreme conditions in general, which is my specific niche, and b) to share insights and lessons that I learned from my career path so far.
