Who am I:

I am a passionate, unique, and inspirational leader in both the space and STEAM industries. Coming from a science background and almost 15 years in the broadcast television industry, I am a pioneer in taking storytelling to the next level for the aerospace world with an approach that makes what’s happening both easy to understand and exciting to everyone who reads my stories and watches my videos. I’m living my childhood dream as a meteorologist while also transitioning my career to becoming a known presence in the aerospace industry and as an advocate for women of both STEAM and space. We are all here for a reason, and I know my purpose is to help others succeed and be a positive role model for girls and young women everywhere encouraging them that the galaxy is the limit and anything is possible if you want it bad enough. I am Rocket Girl, a nickname I earned after my first rocket launch I reported on and covered, beginning with my work highlighting the GOES-R satellite series with GOES-17 back in 2017. I am going to make a difference in the world one day and conversation at a time.

What I do:

My day job is a Senior Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and Space/Science Journalist for the #1 television market in the US at News 12 in the Tri-State region (based on Long Island). I also serve as an expert on storytelling through writing and video for aerospace companies internationally and enjoy being a guest moderator and speaker on panels at science and aerospace conferences (such as Satellite Conference & Space Symposium). I also frequent as a featured guest on podcasts all across the world on aerospace and STEM topics as well as giving motivational talks to students as well as professionals on both career and personal topics.

Why you should follow me on Linkedin:

I want to support you along your journey! I am a mover and shaker unlike anything you’ve seen before in the television world. There are very few women that are scientists in the broadcast television business that are passionate about storytelling on aerospace topics, and so with my experience and success in communicating what’s happening in the space world, I am changing the way to teach and excite the public one story at a time. I’m also huge on helping each other out whether it’s giving advice or connecting people with others to help them succeed. My goal is to continue to pay it forward as so many mentors before me did for me, and be a positive role model and mentor to those with dreams as big as mine. Together we win, divided we fall. Let’s connect and be the difference this world needs.

Who I follow on Linkedin

I follow women that are not afraid to be their true, unique selves and are setting a good role model for young women through their presence and posts online. These are women entrepreneurs, leaders, influencers, and those who want to help others out as much as they still want to learn how to better themselves. I follow positive people who inspire me daily to be the best version of myself and that I know also will support me just as much without fear of competition. The aerospace industry needs us all, and we need to build each other up every day.

I think this is my favorite because I was supporting the success of another woman and friend in the aerospace industry and I was blown away by how many other people joined me (both women AND men) in celebrating her success not just individually, but for women everywhere hoping to make a difference and positively change the world. It goes to show my point of encouraging others to be their best selves and lifting each other up as much as we can.

I know there have been posts that get a lot more likes, but for me personally a photo was taken of me while working from home and I sat down after work and just wrote from my heart something that I hoped would inspire anyone who read it. Not only did I get some excellent feedback on the post, I also the next day had so many private messages from people in all industries telling me how much they appreciated my positivity and for not giving up or in to negativity during some of the most darkest times of COVID-19. If I can make at least one person’s day every single day, I know I am fulfilling my purpose and making a difference in this world.
